I whole heartedly believe he never truly betrayed the creed. He always stayed true to the tenants of the brotherhood… he just was corrupted by Achilles anger and grief. Achilles was never a truly evil man just a man fraying to stop a war in the wrong way killing thousands. He and his followers betrayed the creed not shay. And a lot of people will say” he did betray them, he became a Templar” they fight for the same goal. At least back then they did not so much during modern day but during shays time.. yes they were trying to make a better world the same as the assassins. So no he never truly betrayed the brotherhood.

The most infuriating part of this is that they still could have done this. All they would have to do to keep making games is come up with a new modern day character with different ancestry. They could have given Desmond a satisfying and epic concluded AND kept the franchise going but they only did the latter.

I don't know what it is about assassin's creed, but you know it makes me want to try and save the world (I'm being honest here) it makes me want to keep going in certain things. As they never gave up, only kept going. If nothing else, I look up to certain assassins in the game. I don't want to kill anybody. but the amount of persistence they have within themselves is incredible. the amount of stuff they try to do to save their loved ones is amazing. But also looking at how much they lost they grow; they find ways to get past it and that's what I find so awesome. I feel in real life that people get in a stage where they don't want to continue in certain things in life, but watching this is inspirational not even just this but seeing the games and how the characters progress onward through really hard parts in life. For example, losing people that they love, Ezio and Arno I felt bad for... they both lost people they loved at a young age and yet they got through it. That's what I find so amazing about the games.
